Thursday's Material Wishlist Vol. 18 (Friday Edition)
TGIF! And to make it even better ... J.crew factory online is open! While I have noticed that a lot of the factory items are retail store items from last year (2 "factory" sweaters I bought retail last year for $98 each), there are still a few items that I LUST!
The ruffle jacket. So sweet. Quite a versatile piece too.

Shopping Bag
Move Joie boots from a lust item to my shopping bag, please! I just dropped $212 (including tax) at Marshall's. Apparently the boots I bought were not the Martha boot, but rather the Outta Control boot. I learned via ShoeSoiree, that this boot is from August 2008 and the original retail on them is $575 (confirmed on the box they came in). Age aside, I am loving them and excited for how they will look with the Madewell Tea Party dress and grey tights!
What can I say, I am not a stylist so must rip off a look I like, from head to toe!

Madewell
Not sure what has come over me that I am all of a sudden obsessed with capes/capelets/ponchos, but I was beyond thrilled when I received an email from Madewell informing me of new arrivals including .... a poncho!

Joie
Continuing with my footwear obsession, the Joie Martha riding boot. This year's colors are the dark espresso brown and black. Retail on these puppies is around $485. However, I have found a cognac colored pair at Marshall's for $199! Score! Haven't bought them yet but seriously contemplating it. J.crew has a similar style this year as well, cognac color pebbled leather. Beautious!

Piper - October 2010
Wanted: Cape or Capelet
I don't know what came over me but ever since Saturday, I felt like something is missing from my wardrobe. A classic staple. The Cape. Or Capelet. Or Poncho (I suppose though I despise that word).

Shopping Bag
About two weeks ago my coworker, Mrs. D, gave me a 25% off coupon. Now I am not one to let a coupon go to waste so here is what landed in my shopping bag (kind of)
OK so this dress didn't end up being purchased since they didn't have it in the store but I do ADORE it!! I am loving ruffles and anything girly this year.
This sweater was a STEAL - $128 marked down to $69.99 then an additiona 25% off. Will be perfect with riding boots ... which have yet to be purchased ;)

Project: Kitchen Remodel 2010
I do owe my loyal readers an apology for no blog updates lately. It has been a crazy month of October. We are underway with remodeling our 1984 hideous kitchen which is taking up the majority of my time spent persuing the internet.
Last Thursday my new appliances were delivered and I bid farewell to my almond colored stove and dishwasher - buh bye. The new appliances are awaiting installation in our garage since we haven't put the new floor down yet. This is a nuisance since the only appliance we have in the kitchen is our new stainless fridge, but it's buying me some time to make up my mind (keep in mind it took us TWO years to select appliances). What I've found so far are images of my dream kitchen (below). Please notice the AWESOME paint color. We spent a lot of time at benjaminmoore.com trying to match this up and I think we've got it nailed. The color is called Greenwich Village - coming soon to my kitchen!! Our cabinets will also be stark white with the stainless hardware (no window cabinets though, I'll admit I don't keep an extremely clean kitchen) and our floors are an orangish hardwood (the color is butterscotch from Bruce Hardwood). Now it's just a matter of selecting the granite. We have been in the process of choosing granite for the past 6 months or so. I'm not joking when I say that we have samples from every slab at home right now. It's not right. We are all over the place and can't make up our minds. Finding the kitchen below was a blessing. We both agree that it is breathtaking and that we will shamelessly copy every aspect of it.
Once we have this all buttoned up, the fun part begins: picking out kitchen dining furniture! Our kitchen is a fairly large space (10x12), so I'm hoping we can fit a round table with either 2 or 4 chairs. I'm worried 4 may look cramped but it makes more sense.
I am absolutely loving the kirkwood pedestal table and seagrass chairs from Pottery Barn. I'm worried the chairs may not be too durable but I love the cozy feel of them with this table.
