Moment of Weakness

In a moment of weakness, I purchased the below. How am I going to explain this to my husband???? (In my defense, they were such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. They were so cheap, it was almost like stealing!).

The Gear

September 15 (wow - 28 days ago already) I turned over a new leaf and joined a new gym! Or should I say re-joined? I left New York Sports Club in Fall 2007 and joined another gym closer to home. I tried and tried to get into it, but just couldn't! NYSC had turned me into a gym snob requiring towel service, classes and locker rooms already equipped with shampoo, conditioner and hair dryers!
I noticed this week that while all my gym gear is still in pretty good shape, it is OLD! I have made a list of things I need in order to update my gym wardrobe a little bit!

1. Under Armour Heat Gear Updated Frequency Tee (in both long and short sleeve varieties)

2. Under Armour Heat Gear Capri Tight. Yeah this is what my thighs look like in them too: haha
3. Asics GT 2140. I've had about 5 pairs of Asics over the years and nothing compares as far as a light weight, durable and comfortable running shoe! They are the best!

4. This one's kind of a throw in because I think I'd look really cute rocking this with some black yoga pants at Starbucks or something. Marmot vest. Heart!!

Bucket List

Since I have an obvious love for lists, I decided now is as good of a time as any to start drafting my bucket list. I haven't given it too much thought, but here are some definite must's:

  1. Visit Italy
  2. Join a book club
  3. Run a marathon ... or 1/2 marathon
  4. Finish Grad school
  5. Finish CPCU program (hint, hint: I work in insurance. I know, not what you'd expect from someone who is so obsessed with clothes, shoes, handbags, make up, and outerwear but it funds my material passion.)
  6. Become a mother
  7. Have a six pack!
  8. Cook an actual meal - think: Thanksgiving dinner. Not: my usual shake 'n bake, rice and steamed broccoli

Tis The Season

Only a few short hours after posting my Christmas list, I received an email notification that the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book 2009 is now out! I am expecting mine any day now!! I wonder what this year's most extravagant gift will be ...

Christmas List

With just over 75 (give or take) days until Christmas, now is as good of a time as any to start building my list.

Here's the first iteration. Please leave a comment if you wish to have any of the information on these items!

Shopping Bag

YAY I finally did some shopping this weekend. Actually, I did quite a bit of shopping! I think the only thing I have left to purchase is a new pair of skinny jeans.

Here is a sampling (but not the full list) of things I purchased over the weekend:

Yummy Yummy Dessert Recipe

Pictured above is my final product of a super easy dessert recipe supplied to me by Miss KAR. I used a small trifle bowl in order to exercise some portion control!
Ingredients:
1 box Nilla Wafers
4 (or more) ripe bananas, sliced
3.4 oz. package of Instant Jello Vanilla Pudding
1.5 c. cold water
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 c. whipping cream
Combine water & condensed milk with a hand mizer. Add pudding to form custard. Chill for 3 hours. Remove from refrigerator. In a separate mixing bowl, whipe cream and fold into the chilled custard. In a trifle bowl, layer pudding, cookies and banans in alternating layers. Chill up to 8 hours.
Enjoy!

Favor Tags - Final Result

Here's the final result of the favor tags created by Nicole from Pink Design Events for Miss M's shower!

The other maids and I had an assembly line of measuring the ribbon, taping it in place, then gluing the favor tag on top. The favors were mini pies in chocolate bourbon pecan pie and apple cranberry pie - YUM! Made for an excellent breakfast the morning after the shower!
