Although Christmas has just passed, a new wishlist has emerged. It's not that I didn't get everything (and more) that I wanted or needed but I do have a birthday coming up in January!

Thursday's Material Wishlist Vol. 4
Well it has been about 3 (wow!) months since I last posted a Material Wishlist on a Thursday. Aside from the new leggings, boyfriend blazer, grey corduroys, black turtleneck and 2 camisoles, I have been pretty good about not shopping for myself during the holiday season! It has been torture, but I have not bought a pair of shoes since my moment of weakness during the TB Private Sale back in October. I truly thought I was on the road to recovery until a little message arrived this morning notifying me of the TB Winter Sale - up to 60% off! Of course there are about a bazillion things I am lusting after so where better to express my material desires than on my trusty blog! (Crossing my fingers my darling husband reads this one!)

Stella and Dot
My friend and former coworker Mrs. M has just become a Stella and Dot stylist. To give you some background, before Mrs. M graduated college, she interviewed with a company where I was working and I interviewed her! Anyhow, her first trunk show is this Sunday which I unfortunately cannot attend because my baking day with my mother & sister-in-law is that same day (soooo ... expect LOTS of recipes next week!).
But, here are some of my fave items from http://www.stelldot.com/

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
Well, last Wednesday, December 9, we had our first significant snowfall of the season. We got about 5 inches of which just a trace is still on the ground. Piper wasn't a huge fan of the snow and even less a fan of being tied to the tree in the front yard while I shoveled the front stairs. Here she is trying to get to me and then barking her head off when she realized she was on a very short leash!

Relaxing Weekend!
Monday back to work wasn't quite as painful this week! I had the most relaxing weekend ever, snuggling with my puppy and getting caught up on trashy TV! As usual, there is a list! Here is the list of how I spent my hours Saturday (when it was snowing):
- The Goods (WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!)
- MTV's the Jersey Shore
- MTV's Real Life: I hate my new body (story about 2 people who had lap band surgery)
- The Sweetest Thing
- Radio City Christmas Spectacular on Channel 13
- The News
- Saturday Night Live

Christmas List - First Revision
Wednesday's Gripe
While I do love my little darling, Piper, I am getting frustrated that she still is unable to sleep through the night! Last night she woke me up at 1:30 AM because she had an accident in her crate. I took her outside to show her that when you cry in the middle of the night, the next step is to go outside. I changed her bedding and put her back down to bed and she cried for an HOUR! It was 2:30 AM at this point and only 3.5 hours before I had to get up for work so Mr. K moved her crate into the basement for the remainder of the night so we could sleep a little. I went down at 6:00 to start her morning routine. She didn't want to come out of her crate! She stood up inside it, squatted, and went to the bathroom! Ugh!

Piper - November 2009
Here are some pictures of our little darling, Piper, from the first 1 week at home! During the first week, we have learned that Piper likes to be in cozy, enclosed places (like under our ottoman coffee table), and has an affinity for Mrs. K's bathrobe! Looks like I'll be adding bathrobe to my Christmas list! :)
Thanksgiving Recap
Wow it seems like forever since I last posted!
The past few weeks have been total Piper-mania! I love that sweet little puppy!
Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful with her. She was so well behaved, which made it that much more enjoyable for everyone. My wonderful mother even made my favorite Thanksgiving side dish - Carrot Souffle! I also finally got her to give up the recipe so here it is:
1 3/4 lb. carrots scraped clean, steamed or boiled until soft
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. butter, softened (not melted)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. powdered sugar for top prior to serving (optional)
Steam or boil carrots until soft
Transfer to a large bowl while still warm. Add granulated sugar, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat well until smooth. Add flour, mix well. Add beaten eggs, add butter, beat well.
Pour into lightly greased 8x8 baking dish and bake at 350 for 50 minutes-1 hour or until browned on top. Serve warm and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired. Can be refrigerated for 3 days but after that it loses its flavor.
If made ahead, will not be as fluffy and high when re-heated.
ENJOY!

New Arrival: Mrs. K Gets a Sister!
No, my mom did not have a baby! Rather, my brother got married ... giving me the sister I've always wanted! I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid on this beautiful day! The bride & groom (the new Mr. & Mrs. T), were lucky enough to have the ONLY Saturday this fall with sunshine and no rain! I would say just "luck" all around!
The remarkable qualities of this wedding (of course I will list them):
The remarkable qualities of this wedding (of course I will list them):
- The amazing aroma that greeted me as I walked into my new sister-in-law's parents' house!
- A long walk down the aisle followed by ...
- The most heart felt homily ever ... from a self proclaimed "old bachelor." Aww.
- BURBERRY PLAID (see my previous posts ... dog collar, coat, etc.)
- The striking dark wood of the mansion where the bride and groom portraits were taken. Can't wait to see the professional pics!
- An elegant, unique reception venue.
- THE FOOD - scones, yummy signature champagne cocktails, dates wrapped in bacon (yum!), bruschetta, filet mignon, squash soup, chocolate dipped strawberries with cheesecake wedding cake, sliders & fries as a midnight snack! Everywhere you turned there was something delicious! It was definitely an eating event!! Yum, yum, yum!
- Scenes so hysterical I wish there'd been a videographer so they could be relived forever!
- An after party!!

Names ... Another List
Mr. K and I really can't refer to our new addition as "Baby Girl Dog K" for the next 12 years. We need to come up with a name!
Here is (of course) a list of names I like for our precious boxer baby:

- Navy (pin stripes)
Baby on the Way!
Now that we have a "baby" on the way, we need to start preparing! "Baby Girl Dog K" comes home November 21!
Here is a list of some things "Baby Girl Dog K" will immediately need:
1. A super preppy dog collar. I like this Burberry variation!
2. Four Paws Wee Wee Pads. Let's face it, as precious as she is, she is not house broken.

3. Nylabones. We can't have "Baby Girl Dog K" chewing up all Mrs. K's expensive shoes!
4. Iams brand puppy food for large dog breeds. She's going to be a big girl (mom is 60 lbs!)

Yabba Dabba Doo!
Happy Belated Halloween (and Happy Belated Birthday to Miss KAR!)
Miss KAR threw an excellent birthday/halloween/world series party this past Saturday! The food was amazing and the costumes were excellent!
Here I am (Wilma) with Mr. K (Fred) and our dear friends Miss R (yes, yet another one of my friends is "Miss R") and Mr. B (Betty and Barney).
Next year we'll have our little Dino to add to the group!
