Project: Dining Room Remodel 2011

Now that we're tying up the loose ends of our living room remodel, it's time to move on to the dining room. I have made a little check list and the biggest item will be recovering the chairs. I've already started scouting out some fabric possibilities but I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I am thinking a solid color but I will certainly have to take a trip to Calico Corners soon.

I have made some progress though - Sunday Mr. K and I took a trip to a fabulous HomeGoods store and picked up a mirror to hang in our dining room. While persuing potterybarn.com today, I ordered these vintage chair prints pictured below. We already have a tin fork & spoon hung on one of the walls. I'm hoping I can make it come together as well as the living room did! Before pics coming soon!

PSA: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Oh I am literally shaking with excitement because there are only TWO days until the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Have you any idea what this means?! This means that we can buy new, fall fashions on sale before fall even arrives!! How wonderful! Here is the full link to the Catalog but I've included my fall favorites below for your viewing pleasure.

This boucle jacket was on the first page of the catalog. How could you not thumb through the whole thing after seeing this? I want more!

If you've been following my blog for a while or perhaps had some free time recently to go through my old posts, you would have seen about a year ago when I was completely smitten with capelets. Well that hasn't gone away. I don't own one yet but I love this one paired with the tie front blouse.
Another capelet. This one is about $300 cheaper than the one pictured above though I don't like it quite as well. This one reads: strictly weekend. I don't think I could get away with this at work.

The picture below is kind of tiny so I'm not sure you can make them out but this whole look is nicely done. I love the open cardigan and the quilted boots. The boots are Corso Como and it will be tough for me to not buy them!

OK, OK. I know. More stripes!

And a perfectly coordinated work look. I think this look was by Halogen but if you like it, you can confirm by checking out the Nordstrom Catalog.

Loafers! You knew there would be shoes on this list sooner or later, right?!

And, of course, no shopping spree is complete without some Tory Burch. While I do love the boots, I am lusting for a TB handbag! This one is beautiful and I can't see what else is on sale once it begins on Friday!

Project: Living Room Remodel 2011 (2nd Update)

The living room is really coming along! Last week my custom pillows arrived. They really tie the whole room together - the wall color, the area rug and the sofas!
Ahh, we also hired a cleaning lady. Piper enjoying her CLEAN casa!

Next up: hanging the curtains. Expect an updated living room photo quite soon!

PSA: J.Crew

Darn inbox keeps filling up with sale notification emails day in and day out! Today's PSA is imminent, as J.Crew is extending an additional 30% off all sale items but it ends today. So, basically, hurry.

I went into the store and bought the Leslie lace shell pictured below. I have no clue what I am going to do with it but it was cute, marked down to $55 from $88 + an additional 30% off. I am thinking of styling it with a black pencil skirt and red patent leather pumps (that I have yet to purchase!).

I also snagged a cute pair of shorts to wear sailing on Thursday. They are a light chambray material and color, pleated in the front, cuffed, with a chambray tie belt on them. I was going to pair them with a navy and white wide stripe tee and my brown sperry topsiders.
OK here is what I was really looking for in the store but unable to find, so I ordered online: turquoise colored khaki shorts! Not sure why I was so drawn to them but I have tons of plans for them!

Christmas List

With less than 6 months until Christmas, I am ready to begin my shopping and start making my own little list!

A new wallet. I've had mine for 3+ years and while it's still functional, frankly I'm sick of it. I like this Marc Jacobs one.

Alex and Ani bangles. Thank you to my dear friend Miss C (soon to be Mrs. J) for turning me on to this Rhode Island jewelry designer.

Aaaand another Alex and Ani bangle.
