Shoe Lust

Thank goodness my darling husband buys me Coach handbags for every occasion/holiday because if it were up to me, I'd be using the same old black and tan tumbled leather satchel from 4 years ago. I'd rather spend every last dime on shoes! Mr. K thinks I have too many and don't wear most of them (which is true). Clearly he does not understand the concept of "collecting." I might have to remind him of baseball cards he collected as a kid.

To make a "short story long" these are the shoes that I'd like to add to my collection next:

Success: Chickie Cake Pops

For Christmas my mother-in-law gave me three baking related cook books. Two were specific to cupcakes and the third was Bakerella's book on Cake Pops! Well, 4 months later I actually attempted the chickie cake pops for Easter.

Here is how they are supposed to look:
And here is how mine turned out - not too shabby!

Here is a box full of the chickies. I experimented with some different eyeballs. Some have eyes drawn on with edible food marker and others have edible googly eyes. The googly eyed ones kind of look like Big Bird!

Belmont Stakes

Last year Mr. K and I had the pleasure of attending a horse race in Saratoga Springs, New York. We didn't win, but we did have a blast! This year we've decided to up the ante and are heading to the Belmont Stakes! Obviously the second most important part of this is wardrobe (the most important being winning this time 'round!).

1. A large hat is a MUST. This particular one is from Vineyard Vines.

2. A super preppy dress. This white dress is also from Vineyard Vines.

3. Scarf dress from Vineyard Vines. So stunning, elegant, preppy.

4. Navy dress from Elizabeth McKay. This dress is reminiscent of the one my bridesmaids wore from Jenny Yoo!

5. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G Lilly Pulitzer. Literally, anything will do.

6. More Lilly. Totally loving the white with gold embroidery.

7. Kate Spade. I think this dress is also available in a skirt version as well, though I wasn't able to locate it online.

J. Crew

So I just realized that from my Lynne Hiriak post of a few weeks ago I made a remark about grey vests but didn't elaborate any further. Two weeks ago I got a *bit* carried away and ended up spending a small fortune at j.crew. I must admit, this spree was totally warranted.

I bought this military inspired tunic in the green color. I just need to get white ankle peg jeans. They will be a great addition to my wardrobe.
A plaid pop over style shirt. I actually wore this with dark denim ankle peg jeans from Kut from the Kloth (purchased last year at Nordstrom), a gold belt, tan TB flats and my ivory North Face vest. I looked slightly lumberjack but it was cute for a hockey game.

Sale item! This color block empire waist top. When it arrived, I was sorely disappointed. The bottom color is not so much a coral color as it is rust colored. This went back.

Now we get to the meat of it - the grey vest! This is a cascading vest that actually has a gold zipper down either side. It looks silly zipped but I wore it with black straight leg pants, a white Ralph Lauren oxford button down, TB pumps and belted it with a skinny gold belt. The vest is from the j.crew weekend collection but I rocked it at work anyhow!

I also purchased this wool dress in navy thinking that the wool would be much more wrinkle resistant than the cotton version. I was mistaken. This looked so pretty on but wrinkled terribly. It was aso a magnet for fuzz off the ivory cardigan I paired with it.

Piper - April 2011

Apologies for the dark photo, the iPhone is a great gadget but not the best camera. Anyhow, this photo is from Sunday. My little darling Piper was being all cudly and cute, though her glowing eyes make her look really devious!

In case you are curious, I am wearing a j.cre chambray "beach cover up" (I call it a tunic), Alisha Levine leggings, Coach gold tone boyfriend watch, and a j.crew beaded & crystal long necklace.

J. Crew

Dear J.Crew email blast devils,

Why oh why must you send emails when I just transfered money to get my credit card balance to $0? You surely know I cannot resist a good sale with free shipping. Now I must transfer over another $115.

Sincerely,

Mrs. K, dedicated J.crew shopper since employed there from 1999-2002.
